Microsoft are retiring their App Centre next week, which we have used as a distribution method for the following Android mobile applications:
- Sicon Barcoding App
- Sicon Service App
- Sicon Shop Floor Data Capture App
From the end of the month, it will no longer be possible to access these downloads via the Microsoft App Centre. Customers using the QR codes provided in the settings screens of affected Sicon Products will receive an error message and will not be able to download the Apps from that location.
The Sicon Barcoding App is now available to download via the Google Play Store. Instructions on this can be found in the Sicon Barcoding & Warehousing Help & User Guide: https://www.sicon.co.uk/user-guide/barcoding-warehousing-help-and-user-guide/#2-2
The Sicon Service App and Sicon Shop Floor Data Capture are available from a new download location hosted by us in Azure. The updated QR codes have been added to the Help & User Guides:
Sicon Service (Section 5.14): https://www.sicon.co.uk/user-guide/service-help-and-user-guide/#5-14
Sicon Shop Floor Data Capture (Section 2.1) | https://www.sicon.co.uk/user-guide/shop-floor-data-capture-help-and-user-guide/#2-1
The QR codes in these sections should be used instead of the existing download links in the following screens:
- Service/Utilities/Settings/Mobile Setup tab (note that the Apple iOS download is unaffected)
- Shop Floor Data Capture/Maintenance/Settings/Licensing tab
The QR codes in these screens will be updated in future versions, but for now the QR codes within the Help & User Guides should be used instead for customers on existing versions.
